Angeletto in New Orleans

Angeletto Pizzeria and Pub
220 South Robertson St.
New Orleans, LA 70112

So I came here for a quick lunch during school. I have a few thoughts on this place: service was surprisingly slow considering how big and empty the place was at lunch time on a Monday. The server, when present, was very friendly and offered to make us a fresh pot of coffee when we asked her if they served any. My other thought is that the portions were huge! I ordered a calzone and had to pack up half of it for dinner and my fellow foodie ordered a sandwich with french fries and had to pack up the other half of it as well. So it was nice to spend about $10 for  2 meals. The calzone was your basic meatballs with tomato sauce and mozarella cheese, nothing really special about it. They used a mixture of sausage and ground meat which was nice. The calzone was really crispy and the crust resembled a pie crust.

very big meatballs calzone

“primo” – had artichoke hearts, tomato, mozzarella, spinach on foccacia bread w very crispy french fries

I'm a food aficionado with an interest in photography. Most of my restaurants will be in New Orleans as I will be here over the next few years. Every now and then you will see a post from Boston or Philadelphia too!
