blue dot donut

I heard about this place through the grapevine so I wanted to check it out. There isn’t much of a donut market in New Orleans (they don’t even have a Dunkin Donuts!) Unfortunately, the service wasn’t great. I had read some reviews about how the service was iffy and they were definitely not the nicest ppl I’ve ever dealt with. I especially didn’t appreciate when she smushed my donuts into the tissue wrap (that was a lot of fun to try to make the donuts look whole).

maple bacon donut

This was the most hyped donut, the maple bacon donut. I liked it, just a little heavy for breakfast but very tasty! The bacon wasn’t that salty and the maple syrup flavored frosting was sweet.

apple crisp

The apple crisp was really bland. Probably would’ve been great with coffee. But the donut didn’t have great texture or flavor.

Peanut Butter and Jelly donut

This specialty donut sounded so interesting, I had to try it! I loved the peanut butter frosting and the jelly filling. Definitely took me back to the good ol days of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on white bread!

Blueberry donut

strangely enough, this was my favorite donut of them all. The lil blueberry donut that could! I didn’t expect much from this one, but the flavor was bursting with blueberries and the light glaze gave it a crisp texture.

I'm a food aficionado with an interest in photography. Most of my restaurants will be in New Orleans as I will be here over the next few years. Every now and then you will see a post from Boston or Philadelphia too!
